SICK BUILDINGS
The wonder material turns out to be the problem material...
A variety of buildings materials used from the
post World War Two time to the 1990s, such as asbestos, and ingredients of building materials, such as PCB and PAH, turned out to be a serious health problem in the buildings where they have been applied. Without abatement measures, the future use of those buildings could be limited or even impossible. The demolition of those buildings requires extensive abatement measures in advance.
Safe Time and Money !
The production or inappropriate handling / storage of hazardous materials often resulted in contamination of the building materials and underground of commercial and industrial buildings. The contamination
of buildings with hazardous materials developed to a major factor for
the development, rehabilitation and conversion of sites.
The large variety of applied hazardous materials requires a professional survey, analyses and abatement planning to be performed by specialized and experienced experts.
In addition to the legal requirement for the identification of the hazardous materials, a detailed investigation during the planning phase can significantly increase the reliability of cost estimates and time schedules. Well-planned abatement measures with proper separation of hazardous materials prior to the construction work can result in significantly lower disposal costs for the demolition wastes.
